I am enjoying this holiday by baking and trying new recipes. However, the classic banana bread would never get shifted from my list. I still love my old recipe, but this time I used almost 60% whole wheat. The dough wasn't as pliable as the original recipe. When I saw the un-risen dough, I blamed my hand mixer, got disappointed and wished to get a 'proper' mixer. Mixer that is strong enough to mix bread dough. Surprisingly, once I baked them, I saw the bread rose just fine. It was hubby comment, "hm... whole wheat bread is really good", that reminded me to be content for what I had. He didn't know that I used more whole wheat than usual, and he didn't know my complaint about the mixer. He just likes whatever his wife cooks for him
